Mikki Skinner is a member of the West Point Band of the United States Military Academy. Prior to joining, she earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Oklahoma with Dr. Karl Sievers and was a master's degree candidate at the Cleveland Institute of Music where she studied with Michael Sachs of the Cleveland Orchestra. While pursuing her studies, Mikki performed with various orchestras throughout the United States and Europe including the 2006 Young Euro Classic Festival (Berlin), Aldeburgh Festival at Snape Maltings (England), Festival de Musique de Menton (France), Musica Riva Festival (Italy) and the Gastieg (Munich), where she performed with the Youth Orchestra of the Americas under the baton of Placido Domingo. Mikki was the second place finalist in the 2006 National Trumpet Competition's Solo Division. She regularly plays with the New Amsterdam Brass Band, a full british style brass orchestra, based in New Jersey. Mikki currently lives in New York with her wonderful husband Joe.
