Houston-based trombonist and educator Catie Hickey seeks to reach audiences through any means possible. Equally at home in the front of a jazz group or the back of an orchestra, her performance experience ranges from concerts with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra to chamber music outreach in rural Cameroon. She first became involved with the ASM festival as a member of the 2006 Youth Orchestra of the Americas that toured Europe. As an educator, Catie maintains a studio of thirty five private low brass students while serving as a Young Artist for the DaCamera Chamber Music series. She is a graduate of Rice University (Houston, Texas) and the Eastman School of Music (Rochester, New York). |
