Principal Bassist of the National Symphony of Panama, Roberto Flórez began his musical studies at the old Conservatory of Panama under the directorship of the great Panamanian musician Clarence Martin. Later on he traveled to Río de Janeiro, Brazil, where he completed a Bachelor in Music studying with the Italian double-bassist Sandrino Santoro.
He has received master classes from several well-known bassists such as Murray Grodner. He has appeared as soloist and chamber musician in Panama, Brazil, and Costa Rica. Mr. Flórez is currently the bass teacher at the National Institute of Music of Panama.
