A native of North Royalton, OH, Jennifer Arnold currently resides in Portland, Oregon as member of the Oregon Symphony viola section. She received both her Bachelor of Music diploma and Professional Studies degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, studying with Cleveland Orchestra Principal Violist, Robert Vernon. Jennifer is currently on the faculty of the Community Music Center in Portland, OR where she teaches violin, viola, and chamber music. She is currently on the faculty of Savannah based Project 440, Alfredo Saint-Malo Music Festival of Panama, and Sphinx Performance Academies in Oberlin and Chicago and has been on the faculty of such festivals as Sembrando Talentos Uruguay and the Okemo Young Artists Festival. Jennifer was a former member of the Akron Symphony, Cleveland Pops Orchestra, Youngstown Symphony, and Sphinx Symphony Orchestra. She has performed in various festivals including Astoria Music Festival, Spoleto USA, National Orchestral Institute, Encore School for Strings, New York String Seminar, Henry Mancini Institute, Interlochen, and most recently spent five summers as Principal Viola with the Youth Orchestra of the Americas, touring Europe, South, and Central America. Jennifer was a three time semi-finalist in the Sphinx Competition for Black and Latino String Players and was the Best Tone winner the inaugural year.
